Regional Conference “Accelerating Progress Towards Inclusive Development Through Gender Statistics”

On 25–26 July 2024, the regional conference “Accelerating Progress Towards Inclusive Development Through Gender Statistics” was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, organized by GEOSTAT (National Statistics Office of Georgia) and UN Women.

The event brought together over 60 senior experts from national statistical offices of Western Balkan countries, including Albania, as well as from Turkey, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Researchers and decision-makers from international organizations also participated, with a focus on using gender data for evidence-based policymaking.

Albania was represented by Ms. Elsa Dhuli, Director General of INSTAT, who shared the country’s experience in the session “Gender Data Governance for Efficient Decision-Making” with  a presentation on “Data Stewardship in Building a National Gender Data Ecosystem”.

Additionally, Ms. Elona Sevrani, Director of the General Directorate of Statistical Production at INSTAT, contributed to the session “Measuring the Gender Income Gap”, presenting Albania’s experience in “Measuring the Gender Pay Gap Using Establishment Survey”.
