The 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4)

30 Jun 2025 - 04 Jul 2025
Seville, Spain

The Albanian delegation successfully concluded its participation in the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), held from June 30 to July 4 in Seville, Spain.

INSTAT, as part of the national delegation, actively contributed to global discussions by emphasizing the central role of data and statistics in promoting sustainable development, informing evidence-based policymaking, and strengthening international cooperation.

A key highlight for Albania was its participation in the event “Investing in Data: Driving Development”, where Ms. Elsa Dhuli, Director General of INSTAT and Co-Chair of the High-Level Group for Partnership, Coordination, and Capacity-Building for Statistics (HLG-PCCB), delivered the keynote speech on the Medellín Framework for Action on Data for Sustainable Development, demonstrating Albania’s commitment to strengthening national data systems.

The conference also marked the official launch of the Seville Action Platform, a global initiative aimed at reinforcing data systems for sustainable financing and ensuring that high-quality and disaggregated data remain at the heart of development efforts.

The “Compromiso de Sevilla”, the document adopted by the conference, recognizes data as a strategic asset and highlights the need for continued investment in national statistical systems to enable effective decision-making, accountability, and transparency.

At this high-level conference, global leaders once again underlined that high-quality data and statistics are indispensable for sustainable development, effective governance, and global cooperation. This serves as a timely and important reminder that our work as statisticians is more critical than ever—both for national development and for our European future.

INSTAT remains committed to working with partners at national, regional, and global levels to ensure that data continues to be a driver of sustainable development and to actively contribute to initiatives such as the Seville Action Platform.
