Project objectives:

The overall objective of the project is to support the National Institute of Statistics of Albania in carrying out the operational activities of the Population and Housing Census, so that policy makers, national and local government, and the citizens of Albania will dispose and make use of updated, disaggregated, comprehensive official statistics on the resident population of the Country.

Project results:

• Census activities implemented and monitored successfully, and project Management documentation developed and updated;
• Census mapping and geospatial activities for pre-enumeration phase, enumeration and post enumeration phase prepared and finalized;
• Census questionnaire finalized and other Census materials (instruction manuals, training materials) prepared;
• Data collection using electronic questionnaire (CAPI) developed, tested and finalised;
• INSTAT staff trained to be able to conduct Population and Housing Census according to EU standards;
• Tabulation, analysis and dissemination of Census results is successfully conducted
