Project objectives:

The object of the grant is to support INSTAT in carrying out the operational activities of the Census of Population and Housing , so that policymakers, central government, local government and citizens of Albania have access to and use up-to-date and comprehensive statistics on the resident population of the country. Project objectives:

• Support the management and organization of CENS by providing expertise and capacity building for the implementation of CENS activities.
• Support CENS Communication activities and advertising campaign by providing external expertise and services.
• Support the development of systems for data collection, monitoring and implementation of CENS activities.
• Support the development of applications for data processing and distribution.
• Support the development of systems for data collection, monitoring and implementation of geospatial activities and mapping.
• Support the printing of materials and the translation of CENS publications.

Project results:

The main result is to provide the government, other stakeholders and the public with relevant statistical

information on the social and demographical structure of the population in Albania and will also contribute to

the creation of a building and dwelling register and of resident population register, which will be the source of

annual population and housing statistics in the future.
