Project objectives:
The main goal of the project is to measure the current domestic violence in Albania using as baseline the results of the 2007 Domestic Violence Survey. The survey will cover violence against women and will help into establishing sustainable system of DV indicators to inform policy makers on statistically sound and comparable estimates. Objectives
- To identify and understand the prevalence and frequency of domestic violence and its impact on battered women
- To measure the core indicators on domestic violence integrated into national M7E system
- To identify gender sterotypes related to sexual practices within the family and HIV/AIDS and measure the level of power for negotiation of women for safe sexual practices
- To identify some of the direct and indirect costs that domestic violence brings to the economy.
Project results:
- Survey implemented
- Draft publication prepared and consulted with the stakeholders in a workshop
- Establish a system to conduct periodically and regularly the DV national survey in a long term perspective
- To ensure the availability of a standard set of indicators in order to assess the situation of DV and the impact of strategies implemented on the purpose.
