Study visit of the delegation of the Greek Statistical Authority (ELSTAT)
In the framework of international cooperation, the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) hosted a two-day study visit, representatives of the Greek Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). The purpose of this study visit was to strengthen cooperation between the two counterpart institutions of the two countries in the field of official statistics. This study visit also took place in the context of the preparatory work for the Census of Population and Housing 2022. During the visit were exchanged professional experiences, best practices related to the Census legislation, methodology, IT infrastructure, communication campaign and issues other organizational for the successful realization of this major project. Also, the two institutions discussed the common challenges that official statistics have in terms of modernization and the growing demand for quality statistics. The ELSTAT delegation was represented by Mr. Athanasios C. Thanopoulos - President of the Greek Statistics Authority and the statistical management staff. The INSTAT delegation was represented by the General Director of the Institute of Statistics, Mrs. Elsa Dhuli and statistical management staff.
